Julie who is an agent in the USA sent an email regarding voices for an animated feature, Specifically she wanted (from me) - MALE VO - Male 20-35, BRITISH, real comedic timing, confident and charming with a great singing voice.

I responded thus - Julie,

I may be a little old but try this.

Philip

Attached was a piece of audio, me singing "Windmills of your mind" along with a young female singer and a pianoist.

Without even a hint of irony she then writ back ...

Great voice.....I will send this to my client.

What is the world coming to?

Perhaps she's like many of us: Whatever Philip does must be perfect. Or we just don't get his sense of humor so we will tell ourselves it's perfect.

The great thing is you got a kick out of sending it and then a kick out of her passing it on. A double kick. Celebrate.

LOL.... I received an audition for the same gig, different part. I didn't want to rule myself out (what constitutues a "great singing voice" was my thought?) so I emailed the agent. She said I needed to submit a character demo (it was for a teen/twenty sound as I recall) and a vocal demo. I have neither so I took a pass. I should have done similar to you, Philip, and sent a track of me singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."

Damn. Good thinking!!!

My guess is that I'll hear no more about it and suspect that it'll be a straight to Youtube production.
