I read back thru the posts and read the new ones...thanks everyone. I guess I'm not sure if the quality is good enough?? Because I would be doing update work from the road for clients that I also record for in the studio...maybe there wouldn't be a big enough difference to matter. I use an MAudio Fast Track now but also have to use a Rolls Phantom Power box.....Also...on my traveling laptop I have Cool Edit Pro 2.1.....maybe with the ASIO link F2 gave I would be able to work around any initial issues....I just want to make sure I get it from someplace that will allow me to return it if the quality doesnt work for me....I don't believe they carry them in store at any of the major music stores around here>>>>> ho hum>>

Mike:
I haven't had a return yet on the MicPort Pro.
I have one left in stock, I'll email you about. Don't like it, return it.

George

I have it now and am working thru he "get it to work stage"...I am using CEP 2.1 on Vista OS.....

I also have Audacity that I have just downloaded and it isn't working on there either. They both recognize the device but I just can't get an output signal.

One question...should I be hearing something thru the headphone out?? It is all lit up and seems to be connected but no sound thru the phones either....

Mike, do check your settings in AA, with input, output, etc. Anything that has to do with recording, monitoring, and hearing/editing.
Also, do you need phantom power? The blue ring lights up, but there's a teeny button near the phone jack that needs to be engaged, or not.

It's quite straightforward, especially when you determine that the MicPort Pro is selected (an automatic thing with my AA version) and other aspects of in/out.

Capisce?

No, really George..... are you kidding about not having any more available?
I plan on a big test thingy with many mics with the MHobo Tounge around the first of the year. Cry

Been meaning to call you. That's what happens when you get busy distracted.

Glad to hear this gadget is making the rounds.
How is the uncannily similar MicMate Pro from MXL faring?
It seems to share the same features as the MicPort Pro.

I have yet to see one in a printed Pro Audio catalog, whereas the MicPort Pro has definitely gotten around. Anyone have one of these yet?
