Hey DC,

At a year ago I purchased a Sennheiser MKH416 for just over $800 from Full Compass--brand new. I bargained a bit and the young man caved...just a thought... I hate paying full retail for anything...http://www.fullcompass.com

That must have fallen off the back of the truck, because dealer cost is well over $900 on these things. Plus the cost of that mic was increased by Sennheiser last year. A used one for $800 is a fair price, anything lower is a GREAT price.

Hey Soundgun,

I dug up my old receipt and I was wrong('Embarrassed')...I apologize for the incorrect info.
I paid over $900, but it was still a great price. The average price at the time was around $1,100...Keep in mind that it did not come with a shock mount, just a foam screen. Here's the receipt info:

If you use FullCompass, my contact (& I think Bob Souer's too) is Martin Vire at x1179.
He's a great guy.
