Day Job Boss: Hey you do voice overs?
Me: Sure do.
Him: That's so cool! Do your best voice over voice for me!
Me: I'm doing it right now.
[awkward pause]
Him: And people pay you for that?
Me: sometimes. _________________ Jeff

I'm expertly qualified to chime in here since I've had preeeeeetty much the exact same conversation with probably two dozen people over the last few years (except Jeff's comedic timing is better than mine).
The best part is the look of extreme disappointment when they realize you're not doing commercials as, say, Elmer Fudd. _________________ Lou Zucaro

My husband's new boss upon meeting me for the first time a few years back had the same conversation with me only it went a little like this:
Him: Your the one who does those voice overs, huh?
me: Yea.
Him: Let me hear that million dollar voice. (said in a very sarcastic tone)
me; I'm off the clock. _________________ Moe Egan

I love 'doing voices' for people- but sometimes someone really rubs you wrong with the way they ask. I just say, "You can't afford me."
Tacky, yet effective!

Good comebacks all.
Heh, I can TOTALLY hear Kara saying that. Matter of fact, I think I have, live and in person. jk _________________ Caryn Clark... The Hip Chick Voice!
