Source-Connect subscription renewal

The Source-Connect renewal subscription just came. Man! Just can't get away from subscription-based services in today's world, can we.

Meanwhile, SC 3.9 still kickin along just fine...

Didn't I read somewhere that you could just forego the subscription (and the service contract that comes with it) or am I dreaming? Anyone here done it?

(I know I could go look, but i'm sparking discussion here... )

Yeah, the 4.0 Adoption has been really slow. Source Elements need to commit to one or the other.

The only thing I have an issue with 3.9 is that, on Macs anyway, the drop down items (forget which menu item) all say the same thing.
So you have to have a little 'cheat screenshot' from before that bug.

I asked Source Elements about it and they said a fix was not in the cards because they've moved on to 4.
Soooooo, yeah.
