My settings in Audition got changed when some other software was updated, and now I'm sometimes getting skips. Does anybody see anything untoward about these settings? I thought I had corrected everything but I'm still having problems.

Thanks for any suggestions you can make.

I'd just re-install Audition. Takes three minutes and you'll go back to
the default settings. I've used this program (Cool Edit/Audition) for ten years and never had issues with the default settings.

One more question about Audition. I can't figure out how to change the default mp3 setting to 192Kbps. We just changed from 128...the default. I know how to change it to 192, but not how to make it the default. I searched the help menu...found nothing. Help!

I'm not certain, but if it's a stereo/two track file, I believe it defaults to whatever rate was used or opened last.

In Audition all files are initially recorded as a wav file. It doesn't become an mp3 until you save it as such.

You can convert to mp3 in both the edit and mulitrack views.....In AA 3, the edit view will default to mp3 in Preferences/System/Save As...the bit rate defaults to whatever you used last.

You can also mixdown in mulitrack view, where your default format and bit rate is whatever you last used
