Agent - "Well y'see Philip you're not in New York so there's no point in signing you"
Philip - "If Morgan Freeman wanted a new agent would you sign him?"
Agent - "Well duh, yeah!"
Philip - "He's not in New York either"
Agent - "Yeah and YOU'RE NOT Morgan Freeman!"
Philip - "Your reason for not signing me was geography NOT celebrity!"
PAH! I win! The prize? Nothing!
Client - "Philip, this is a really short one so can we do a deal on the fee as it's less than half a page?"
Philip - "No problem, pick a number."
Client - " $140 ok?"
Philip - "Happy to help!"
I lose!!! Consolation prize for being a no good loser? $140. 15 jobs from my client and all but one paid the full rate.
Henceforth, as I am in business and the idea of a business is to make a profit I'm not going to argue the point as there is no point I shall lose with grace and take the profit. |

"Lose with grace and take the profit"
AFTRA and SAG would have you tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail.
Don't you realize it's far more important to follow Byzantine rules that require layers of bureaucracy and adherence to regulations that don't apply to your situation than it is to serve clients and make a living? _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Yup! that's $140.15 more in ur pocket than you had before the gig. It's all good.
As they say, mind the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves!

yes, Phillip, excellent reminder. I often get so stuck on making sure I'm not getting taken advantage of, that I often take advantage of myself. _________________ Jeff
