Anyone know of a good press release service? I'd appreciate a free one, but i suspect you get what you pay for with these things.

Are you talking about someone to write the press release? or to get it to the media outlets you're trying to reach?

I write my own, but ask for the help of a professional writer to look it over. Then I call the newspapers/magazines in the area who might have even the slightest interest and ask if I may fax or email them a press release. Then I do the Philip Banks thing of calling back to ask if they have received it.

That's it!

distribution. I know there are places like PRweb.com. Just wondering what everyone else uses. Thanks for sharing your tactic.

not an answer to your question, but a (helpful?) hint --- write in AP style, use pull quotes (including yourself) and send a picture.
