With an hour and a quarter to go until an ISDN session in which I will be required to read 30 seconds worth of copy in 23 seconds with precise diction, half of my mouth, lower lip and tongue is still numb after a visit to the dentist this morning. Before he removed and replaced the old filling, I stressed that I needed to be in tip top by noon. He assured me I would be. I hope he's right... At least my agent hasn't called with any quick turnaround auditions this morning. Things could be worse!

goold wuck jweff.

I think I may actually log into your studio cam and watch this one for myself!

All kidding aside, the last time I had dental work done, my mouth was back to normal after about 2-hours... I'm sure your mouth will back into shape and your pipes will work flawlessly.

Hey, you never know... if not you may find a new style then you'll have to have supply of novocaine on hand for special occasions.

Cheers,

One of the big dentist lies, along with "this new drill won't hurt a bit", is telling us the novacaine wears off in just an hour or so. Hah! Last month it took me four hours to get basic functioning back, and about 6 hours to get good diction back. I'd say chew some gum, drink lots of water, and good luck!

Well, the good news is, I got through the session in the first take. The bad news is, I have to clean a few bits of spittle off my monitor. My tongue was still numb about ten minutes before the session, but pretty much came back into play by the time the ISDN punched up. But the right side of my lower lip was (and still is) mostly numb.

Now that was an adventure!!
