No matter what medium you work in, you might find this lesson from one of the best actors out there very helpful:

Pure Meisner, which is the acting technique I studied for 2 years. This is the preparation all actors must do, including a vo actor in every genre of vo. You need to make choices. Even with direction or script specs, you need to fill in the blanks. Why? To what extent? What are you coming off of that might influence this moment in the scrip? What is your relationship with whom you are talking to? Yes, this also includes being a spokesperson in a commercial. And it matters not what your choices are, it just matters that you make them. It has nothing to do with the voice. It's all about the choice. |
