I’m sad to report that Sam Mowry passed away today during emergency heart surgery. He was a good friend to so many in this industry a close friend of Emma and myself.

I'm so sad to hear this. I just sent Sam a message last night. He didn't/couldn't respond, but I could tell he saw it. Poor Cindy. We'll keep eyes open for any way we can be of help. |

My sincere prayers for all his closest family and friends.
I always enjoy the time I spent with Sam. _________________ - Peter

Sam was a greatly talented person and an even better human being. I am deeply saddened at his death. _________________ Be well,

Sam and I were VO brothers (he had many) and we would call or text each other two or three times a week and had brunch or drinks every couple of weeks. Always entertaining, always offered a good and grounding ear.
Every day, two or three times each day since he left us, I've been mindlessly grabbing my phone to reach out and tell him something interesting, or get his fun observation... but then, I realize I can't do that anymore... and I get sad all over again.
Just in case you didn't know, losing good friends is hell.

Every VO-BB Zoom chat included a "just stopping by to say hello and how are ya?" visit from Sam. When we all had responded he would excuse himself then go and be busy and important leading a new theatrical production for an ever grateful local audience.
Sad to say goodbye but delighted to celebrate a man who made a difference to people in the 3D world. Long may his legacy reign. |
