Almost all of the people pictured in this photo - and this in my professional voiceover life - have in some way sprouted from the VO-BB.

I have soooo many pictures, so many memories and - to this day - so many friendships born from this place.

Very glad to have this place to learn more about and enjoy even more my profession.

That's a graphic I've now shared on my Social Media to help spread the word on VO-BB.

If Bruce approves, feel free to share on your Social Media feeds if you like.

HERE is a link to the blog post with pictures of some very familiar VO-BB friends.[/img]

Haha, I love it -- now we just need a voice with gravitas to carry the spot. Our voice encapsulates the ethereal spirit of voiceover. Not too gruff, but not too polished, either. Splits the difference between the importance of the message, and the levity of the lead-in. They've been there, done that, and got the T-shirt. It's as if our VO works in voiceover, but doesn't. A friend. Family member. (Second cousin?) You'd love to have a beer with them, because they'd have a beer with you--and then smoke you out. Nothing slick, polished or announcer-y AT ALL.... unless you're a slick, polished announcer which is basically what we're looking for in this one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This whole thread is awesome Smile

/start ramble
I was a member of the original forum and remember being so bummed when it was taken down. Shortly afterward it was taken over by Deebs to become the VO-BB and I couldn't be more grateful. I had taken a break from VO early in my career and stopped checking in, so my original account was removed and I had to make another one. I'm so glad I did because shortly after that I read about the first Faffcon. I decided not to attend that one because by the time I saw it, it would have been too last minute for me. When I saw all the post(s) sharing what an amazing experience it was, I vowed to be at any future Faffs, and I did. Meeting other voiceover folks in real life for the first time was definitely a turning point in, not only my career, but in my life. I met so many people there that are still good friends to this day. In fact, Natalie Stanfield and I were paired by Amy as roomies, having never met before. Turns out she's less than an hour and a half from me and I'm proud to call her one of my best friends.

I don't check in here as often as I'd like anymore, but I am hoping to change that.
/end ramble

Thanks, Bruce for keeping it going and for all you do!

OK, Mandy. I'll see your seven and raise you. Smile So thankful for the folks I've met here since March, 2006! I joined, moved to Maine and jumped right into the fire at Pat Fraley's weekend in Boston that fall...

Click to enlarge these. They're huge:

My pleasure. There are so many more, but I had to reign in my enthusiasm for over-sharing. Smile I'm just sorry you and I didn't get more time in Minneapolis, Bruce. Hopefully we'll have another chance.

I really enjoy seeing the pics of everybody at the get togethers.
Though we've never met, I feel a connection.
Been a member for 18 years now.
Fine bunch of generous folks!

And I feel we're related Mr. Miles, even though we probably aren't.

Happy Holidays!

Above all else my most precious memories are of the visits to and visitors from north, south, east and west.

Recently I took a drive on the north 500 to the top of Scotland and back again with a girl from New York. I have a long list of visits from me and to me. There was once a dog sitter for Bess the Border Collie who made the journey from Chicago to do the job while I flew an aeroplane to San Francisco via Reykjavik and New York.

Thanks to this place there are people in my life who probably stayed at a distance but now remain close while others who simply consider me someone they once met.

I have far too many happy experiences to share, all thanks to this place and the people who made me feel so welcome, eventually.
