Wondering if I can trouble some lovely people here for feedback on my narration demo. Performance, material, tech... Lay it on me, por favor.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Anne,

Your delivery was pleasant, but at the same time your delivery was almost exactly the same with every selection. A narration demo should show variety. A little drama, a little compassion, a bit of discovery, making the complex understandable, are just a few ideas. Variety is the spice of life and a successful voiceover career. Try again please.

Hey Anne! It's OK. But to my ears it's a tad one note. It kinda sounds home made. It might not be, but that's what I hear. Even the production sounds a bit one note and from the same library.

Also, where would you market this? Now, I'm no expert at e-learning but this sounds more like an e-learning demo than a narration demo. Before I clicked the link to hear it I was expecting to hear more documentary/reality narration, such as National Geographic, HGTV, etc. This may not be your intended usage for the demo or even for your career. And I might be too conditioned to the national vo market, but this is the kind of narration work I think of when I see narration demo.

Your reads are not bad. But I would love to hear more flavor and variety in the content and reads.

Skype id is voiceoverist

You simply need to learn how to do nothing VERY WELL!

Thanks all very much for your kindly worded insights; this is exactly what I was seeking. It's also another reason why this forum is so great!

Philip, I am definitely going to take you up on that! Much appreciated.

For what it is worth (from not a native person Smile )

I love the voice texture, but in the pieces with the beat, I felt like it was calling for more energy if you know what I mean, drive. It sounded like the music and the voice going their separate ways so to speak. And that creates this monatony effect.

Perhaps, you were recording before the music selection. I always ask if it is possible to hear the reference or music choice, etc.

But I love your voice very much, it is just delivery that needs a beat of an adjustment.

Sorry, for my 50 cents

Good luck Smile
