It looks like it's the one that makes you sound good to you and your clients. Of course YMMV.

also - i bought a cheap set of Phenyx Pro (when it says PRO, it's got to be good) wireless SM58 knock offs - 4 channel system for less than $200 to use in rehearsals for our charity gala and ... they are surprisingly great! solid aluminum construction - knobs feel good - they sound good (enough) and if somebody drops one i won't have a heart attack.

Fun memory: my first VO job was to record a large company IVR system using the stick microphone in the top-right of Lee's appropriately modified chart. In a back room without ventilation or absorptive panels or anything. It got the job done and I don't think the sub-par quality mic mattered when crushed to 8khz. |
