I got this email over the weekend and have since looked at their site www.mademay.com . Their main business is creating painted portraits or landscapes from photos you provide. Somehow they think freelance voice acting could be an additionally provided service. I don't get it. You?

This is Henry Williams from MadeMay and the reason I'm reaching out is because we're looking for voiceover artists to join our growing marketplace. To give you some background info, we launched MadeMay last year as a place that connects artists with clients for custom portrait paintings. However, we're adding new categories throughout 2022, which includes a voiceover category. Just like the current artwork categories, the premise is that people would come on MadeMay to find & hire you for whatever project they need done.

We're an invite-only platform, so please let me know if you're interested in joining.

Is it possible that he simply did a search for "artists" and, when VO showed up in the results, just added it to his wish list without knowing anything about VO or bothering to find out?

I'm pretty sure you've hit that nail on the head. A search for "artists" turned us up. Of course they say a picture paints a thousand words... maybe we could just look at a customer's picture and describe or pontificate on what we're seeing. I'd do it for a thousand a pop I guess.

Of course you could do it like Telly Savalas did in 1975 and treat it like an industrial paint job. https://youtu.be/i8ZLfaUsROU?t=24
