I was asked to do a Source Connect Session so thought I'd bite the bullet and buy the $650 3.9 version.

I use a PC
Usually browse using Google Chrome
Download software and I tried unable to install/open. Need DMG to open. Stuck at that point.

Anyone able to help?

If it's prompting you for DMG, I believe that means that the version you downloaded was the one for Mac rather than PC. Sometimes the PC version of something is labeled as Windows instead of just PC. Hopefully that helps some.

Why would Source Connect need a DeMilitarized Gourd?

I suspect I may have bought the Mac version. I am in touch with Customer Support who sadly appear to not be in touch with any level of Humanity or reality with which I am in touch.

What you bought was a license, so you ought to be able to download the Windows version from the Source Elements website, install that, and apply your license to it. If I recall correctly, you may have to have also signed up for an ILok account to manage the license, in which case you may need to use their license manager to remove it from the Mac version and apply it to the Windows one.

If you are having no luck with the Source Elements people, George Whittam can probably help.

Me n Jack did our thing for a couple of minutes. What he heard sounded like me so well done there!

Only issue is that SC steals the resources from my soundcard so I am either able to SC or record but not both.

"Philip, are you running a backup?"

"No!"

During all of my SC sessions I have never had to record on my end. They always commit that vital act on their side, just like ISDN.

Occasionally I've recorded a backup with Adobe Audition 3.0 during a SC session.
Client didn't need it but I had it. Worked ok.
