XP sp2 and IE6.0

oh, and still getting that anamoly with the 9 critical thigns book, when you click on the book for more info, the add to cart button etc isn't there. it is in all the others.

hope that helps.

Win XP Pro, Firefox 1.5

Looks fine to me. I don't see anything cut off. QT is working, can "save as" from the images.

In IE6.0:

A window immediately pops up saying "Click to run an Active X control on this webpage" Clicked ok, and got another one. Clicked ok again and the QT files loaded. I refreshed and it did it again. I assume that's because of some setting I haven't turned off. I never use IE though so...

I'm curious about that since you said "no more active x"

Deebs--It looks swell! No problems here (XP, Firefox) though I almost bought multiple copies of his books what with my checking for any problems and the clickable text for more information or to buy. The cart is full!

P.S. on Pat's straight demo, I friggin' broke up at the line "No, this is her husband."

Win 2000 Pro / Firefox 1.0.7 / IE 6.0

Looks great DB. I have QT Pro so the audio is not a problem for me. I love the way you treated the pic of Pat on the front page. Very stylish Smile The site is clean and easy to navigate. Very professional! Great job :bitchin:

I laffed at that, too.

Bill, can you send a screenshot? of the vox page?
That 9 Critical SDkills issue was fixed-- you may need to clear your cache.

The Active X stuff should be gone gone gone. I'll have to check the code.

Deirdre,

One small oddity I notice in both Firefox 1.5 and IE 6.x is that clicking on the animation graphic opens a new window for the Quicktime player which clicking on the straight graphic loads the player in the same window. (clicking the "back" arrow takes me back to the "voice" page.)

Otherwise, the quicktime player function loads and works both directly on the page and as described above in both Firefox and IE. (This is WinXP Pro SP2)

And if you like, I can test this on my Linux machines at home in about an hour. But, that's a pretty small slice of the market, I realize; so maybe it's not a big deal.

(And on item not related to the "voice" page, on the books page everything is now in a small scrolling box so that I can only see the top 2 books and have to scroll in the little window in the screen.)

My bad on that one-- they should have both been set to open in a blank page.
Fixed now.
THANK YOU.
If you want to take a look at the site on your Linux machine, that would be grand, too- if you have the time.

that's on purpose-- its called an iFrame. you can scroll to see all the books within the page.
It keeps the headers consistent.

And Allen and Pam from the other post in this forum-- Thank you for the compliments. It was a laborious pleasure.

DB,

I will have to email you a screen shot to you from work tomorrow. Here I use Firefox and its all okey dokey. it could be a local issue, we're behind a firewall and some graphics just don't show up sometimes. but what's odd is that the detail pages for all the other books are fine.

I had some of the cells set to display the images at the BOTTOM on that page when I first put it up. I have since re-set and resized the cells so everything is either TOP or MIDDLE.

that's why I think you might be viewing a cached page.

hmmm I've refreshed the page a couple times and then checked the sourcecord and I can see it there, just not displaying right. I sent you a jpg from my work email. If no one else is having an issue I would chalk it up to a firewall issue here, but what's odd is the others all display properly.

Bill,

It's not unusual for a cached copy of a web page to survive a screen refresh. Try holding down your shift key while hitting refresh and see if that will make a difference.

Deirdre,

Here's a screen shot from Mandriva 2006 Linux running Firefox 1.5.

As expected Quicktime is no soap in Linux. (Notice the tiny bits of green in the bars where the Quicktime players should be? Those are the tops of the error icons from Firefox when there's a missing plug-in.)

But, the click (to play in the default media player) and right-click to download both work flawlessly.
