We're constantly dealing with over-written copy. 40 seconds of s#!t meant for a 30-second bag.

I have learned that you can read the damnedest stuff and NOT sound like a weasel on meth if you keep your vocal timbre low and purposely limit your range.
Not a monotone-- but a read over fewer "notes" is a lot smoother and quicker.

Deirdre,
You aren't alone in the lengthy copy department. Smile Here's a look at what I need to pare down to get to 1:30 twice a week. The PD at the campus radio station did tell me that the Sports Info Director could be a bit wordy, lol

I'll e-mail the PD for a finished product to send your way for your perusal.

to play the Alberta Pandas on Sunday, October 22 at 1p.m. The team stands in
sixth spot with ten points. This season, the top five teams plus host Regina

Great Plains Division with four points and this will be an early test to see
how the Bisons match up with one of their divisional rivals.

Last season, Manitoba went 0-5-1 in the regular season series versus
Saskatchewan with the Herd losing three matches played at Max Bell and tying
one (Feb. 3/06: 4-4). In the 2006 Playoffs, the Herd lost a close
best-of-three Canada West Divisional Final to the Huskies by two games in

Alberta Pandas in the Canada West Final. They battled the Pandas in two
hard-fought games on the road and lost by a combination of three goals and
one of the games was decided in overtime. Manitoba compiled a regular season
record of 7-9-4 (18 points) and placed third place in the conference. The
point total was the highest in teamıs nine-year history.

Pischke to evaluate his squad (a veteran club with several returning
starters) prior to the start of the conference season in a couple of weeks.

University at 8 p.m. This is the second of three pre-season tournaments for
the squad as they host the Applebeeıs Invitational next weekend.

Rookie Isaac Ansah and veteran Darcy Coss have started strongly as they
earned tournament All-Star selections in last weekıs Brandon Tournament.
Head coach Rick Suffield returns to the helm of the team, which will be
playing a high tempo, fast pace style of ball. The team will use the next
month to build on their camp and start to Ogelı as half of the 12 man team
are new players to the program.

The swimming teams will start their 2006-07 season as they travel to the
University of North Dakota this weekend. The one-day event will run on
