Well, it seems that rattling the cage can have a positive affect, after all.
Here's an update to my previous thread about a foreign production house who first offers advance payment, then payment within 10 days, and then 'forgets' what they've offered, saying their payment policy is 30 days after the session.

Hi Lila...
I would like to respectfully point out that before we had even discussed when payment was due you offered payment in advance (pasted quote) and then you stated that payment would be within ten days (pasted quote).
It would be most honorable of you to live up to your word of trust in business and make payment now, please. Be true to your word, Lila.
Thank you.

Hi Mike,
Apologies for the delay.
We usually have a 30 day payment term from the date of the recording however, I had asked the accounts to transfer payment and make an exception for you since you have agreed to accomodate us at a short notice. The invoice has been already forwaded to the accounts. Will check on the status and get back to you.
Again we truly apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Thanks,
Lila

Please find attached a scanned copy of the Western Union MTCN transfer slip.
Kindly confirm when received.
The MTCN number is: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Amount Transferred: xxx dollars
Again we apologise for the delay.
Looking forward to working with you in future.
Thanks,

Of course, I'm not for a moment considering this case closed just yet. I'll be going to pick up my payment at Western Union in a little while. _________________ Mike

Ha! Honestly, after the last project with them, I had my doubts going into this one, but decided to employ the 'T' word (trust). However, we see that people abuse trust.
But I've just returned from depositing the Western Union check, so I'm feeling much better about this. If there is a next time, I'll take things one step at a time. _________________ Mike
