This is a catchall thread for little faffCon things that aren't big enough to warrant their very own thread.

I'll start! The FaffCon sponsorship document is ready and can be found here! If you have any sponsorship or door prize connections, please coordinate with our awesome Official Sponsor Liaison, Brad Venable.

(I wrote the document, and I've never done anything like that before. So if you have a suggestion for how to make it better somehow, it won't hurt my feelings if you let me know! xo)

How about free airfare to Portland? No? Oh well, I tried.

Roger-- just get on the phone (or email) and book two things you weren't counting on, and before you start thinking of how you should spend that money, book your ticket to Portland!

I'll bet you could easily find a roommate to share hotel expenses. Breakfast comes free with the room, FaffCon is serving lunch, and we'll have an afternoon snack, too. You just need to feed yourself a little dinner. Cheap and cheerful!

Save your receipts, write the whole shebang off, and then come back home and book more work with the information and inspiration you get in Portland!

I was brainstorming on how we can attract more of the right kinda folks to faffcon.com so...FaffCon T-shirts are up on www.faffcon.com! (More amusing VO-related garb coming. That's my word-of-mouth stimulus idea. We'll see if it works!)

And 100% of the proceeds of the FaffCon 2010 logo stuff goes to the VO-BB. Smile

Love the shirt ideas! My only quibble is about the "I'm on a mic" design. While immensely fun, it's awfully long. I think we'd get much more mileage out of the "I'm on a mic" line by itself. That phrase has enough connection to the original spot by now that the lengthy lead-up isn't necessary for folks to make the connection.

On the other hand, if someone were to produce a video based on that full idea, that would be a winner. "Anything is possible when your spot sounds like me and not your secretary." Smile

I agree that it's a lot of words, but the text is big enough and I think it creates a design statement. (I just had to get the "two tags for that thing you sell" line in there!) Nonethless, I anticipated that some would feel that way and there's a briefer "I'm on a mic" shirt already done and about to upload, along with two fun varsity athetic team style shirts, and about a half dozen others. Stand by...

And I think you should produce that video!

It's not video, but I couldn't resist a quick hack. Props to Amy for the inspiration. Smile

If you're thinking about leading a session at FaffCon, but you're not sure how to prepare, here's a great overview of UNconferences in general, with some specific ideas about leading your own session: http://bit.ly/cAG5Ck. After you read it and get inspired, head over to the Discussion Board at http://www.facebook.com/faffcon and let us know what your session will be about!
