It didn't seem possible.
Prayers rising to Nita and Don's whole family.

I guess it IS true that God wanted his voice back. I was really starting to be friends with him these last few months, after a continuous working relationship for over three years. Let's continue to send love and light to his family to ease their heavy hearts. I am blessed to have gotten to know him and see first hand how huge a heart he had. His generosity knew no bounds. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

When asked by aspiring voice talents how they could get into doing movie trailers, Don loved to respond: "Wait 'til I die."
Still funny but now bittersweet. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I'm so saddened to hear this news. Just when we were told at Voice Over Universe that Don was getting better, he was sent away by his ANGELS. My condolences goes out towards his wife and his children. RIP to a man who paved the way for many of us in the field of VO work. God Bless. |

His legacy will endure in this business long after most of us are gone. Mr. LaFontaine's generous spirit in giving back to the business he loved so much by graciously posing for pictures with other VO talent and encouraging them in their quest to follow their own dreams in VO will no doubt become treasured memories for many.
Prayers to his family, |

To me, he epitomized the one thing that really defines the VO community for me. A willingness to accept and help all who show the passion to voice. The egos and heirarchy so apparent in other areas of the media/entertainment business is refreshingly absent in our little world, where the only qualification for total acceptance by voice artists at all levels is simply having the spark that drives you to be a VO and a willingness to leave you ego locked away somewhere.
In our business it is not important for you to be better or more successful than others, but simply to be better and more successful than you were yesterday.
He was simply one of us, no more, no less. That, beyond all his other achievements is why I respect him.
Cheers.

Among other "firsts", Don was the original VO mentor, as many have stated.
Now I'm so glad he graced us with his presence at VOICE 2007.
Blessings and prayers to his family.

This is such very sad news. Right when he looked to be making a slow recovery, too. My deepest sympathies for his family. He will definitely be missed. _________________ Jodi Krangle @ voiceoversandvocals.com

Wow. With all of the positive news I was hearing I thought we'd all be hearing about his homecoming this week. Hard to believe he's gone.
Prayers for Nita and the girls. _________________ Wicked huge.....in India.

My prayer now is for his family. May they find comfort and strength from our collective prayers during this difficult time. We all have lost a friend, mentor and hero. I will always treasure his kindness, generosity and advice he gave about our business. _________________ Tony |

To me, the amazing part of Don's story is that he almost fell into the role of the "Voice of God" trailer guy; one guy calls in sick and another's career is born. Though I hardly aspire to do trailers, it was what I read of his humility and humanity that inspired me.
My thoughts are with Nita, their daughters, and their friends and family today. _________________ Greg Littlefield
