So, I've been trying to focus on my marketing efforts lately. Branding, revamping my web site, communication, etc.

I just wanted to let you all know that I tried out "Express Email Marketing" today... and I must say, it's truly a breeze... and very reasonably priced! I easily imported the email addresses I had (only used those of my actual clients as I figured those were the people that would be receptive to my newsletter, so as to not spam folks) from my QuickBooks Customer Manager database, easily created the newsletter, and easily sent it out. EZ!!!

I believe it was Connie who said she uses Express Email Marketing. I appreciate the tip, and wanted to attest to just how EASY it is!!!!!!

Check out my web site and subscribe to my updates, if you like!!!

Caryn,

I really like what you've done with your sites. Very, very nice. And may your successes begin to pile one upon another.

Interesting. So Express Email Marketing is not double opt-in? In other words, when you import your contacts, your contacts don't get an email asking if that's OK?

UPDATE: Hmmm, looks like a GoDaddy-only thing?

I don't think so Jeff. I was actually hoping it would send an initial email asking them to opt out, then send those left on the list the newsletter. But it didn't work like that.

I imported my contacts (again, like I said, I only imported those clients/agents/friends I've worked with that I didn't think would mind my sending them an email). Before I did that, the system made me swear on the Bible that I had permission to send to these people and I wasn't spamming.

At the top of my little newsletter, I put a note about it being my first edition, and that I don't like spam, etc. so if they wanted to opt out, they could do so below.

And yes, it's thru GoDaddy. Everything I do is thru them. It's very reasonably priced, the tech support is great... no complaints here.

hmmnn... would have preferred a stand-alone application (a quick google'ing shows several, but need to check pricing).

An interesting concept for all to enjoy cool

Most of the services that I know of are double opt-in, and I don't want that. I've got a whole bunch of addys that I'd like to import in. People that I've had correspondence with but might not take the trouble of opting in.

Constant Contact is the service I use...$15 a month I believe. I like it- very customizable and easy to use. Like Caryn- my newsletter only goes to clients and fellow voice talent. I started to put a sign up on my site- but didn't like the way it looked...so off it went.

I haven't had the time in a while to send one, but I need to!

To date, I've only had one person opt out- and he is a smart, dashing British man we all know and love Smile (And somehow, his opting out made me love him even more!).

The only issue with Constant Contact is that my letter did hit a few spam blocks, and about 12 folks never received it.

But with Contant Contact, didn't all of your contacts have to opt-IN? or could you just import a list of contacts without it?

I imported my contacts...but I don't believe they had to opt in. There was a link to 'subscribe'. The only thing I noticed was once someone opted out- you can't e-mail them again. Which makes perfect sense.

I've only used the site twice. I'll probably use it again here soon and I'll let ya know what I discover.

I compared the GoDaddy version to http://www.EmailBrain.com and found that e-mail brain was easier, looked nicer, and had great tracking options. Send up to 2000 mails per month for $9.95.
