Greg... Thanks for that Dateline NBC link. I watched the complete series about on-line theft. Talk about scarey!

I'll be glad to replace your keyboard... but first I'll need your social security number and your Mother's maiden name.

It may have already been posted somewhere, but I didn't see it. Seriously, if you are going to run a scam...change your name from e-mail to e-mail! Dork.

I receive the Nigerian e-mails regularly. I'd say about 3 of them a week. Fortunately years ago, a local talk show host warned his listeners about those letters which were snail-mailed to potential suckers. I was paying strict attenion.

I particularly like the broken, stilted English these scams are written in. I must say I have not received this particular one, not even one targeted to the v/o industry.

But they all have similar patterns.
The strange thing is, even though so many people are wise to these scams, they still keep coming. Obviously some sucka somewhere falls for it.

I gleefully assisted Leesa James' email from my spam trap to my black list this morning.

Sheesh. What a maroon s/he is to keep trying.

Ahhh they read my post! They must like clicking on direct email link buttons is all I can say. I never received the email....yet. However, my spam filter drops an elbow on and then body slams any incoming spam before it's released for me to see.

I'd like to see a SPAM letter like this one..

Hello, it is that you don't know me that makes your questioning of my intentions.

Let me asuade you that my intentions are of the purest sort. I contact you for help since you have great skill in writing email and commentary on the internet.

Here is my story. I am the son of the widow of the ministry of cigars in the Nigrean province of Geevurmonea. My father actually is your former President William Clinton. With the shame that mother heaved down upon the family, her husband the minister of cigars was dead from walking in front of a heard of water bison.

This tragedy cause much hardship to family and we forced to start a business from the home. My 15 brothers and sisters compute emails all across the globe to bring monies to us and share percentages with what we call Sookars, you would call benefactors from all over.

I am empathying you this missive to request training from you and your great communicational skill. Recently a bad storm washed our home business into the great plains, and we have had to move our work to local caves to protect ourselves and gather our informative communications.

We ask only 6 months to train with you in your area, are willing to share %25 of all profitables for the next 13 months following. Our estimated intake of funds for the period would be 12,000,000,000.00 dollars Canadian. We urgently request you talk at us for this great oppourtunitie we share. To show you are a commitment, we only ask a small sum of 25,000,000 pesos in cash, sent via courier and delivered by hand to our youngest brother in the last cave on the right.

We implode you to help us, have the honor of teaching us your skilled ways and being an honored Nigerian Sookar..
