Forgive me if this horse has been beaten to death, but of all the videos I've seen on how to make panels, this guy does a great job explaining how simple it is in just 13 minutes.

I paid some good money for mine from ATX acoustics and they're made of rock wool, but this guy uses recycled denim slabs.
Anyone have experience with recycled denim? I'm good to go in my booth with sound treatment (Whisperroom 4242S with a bass trap in left corner and sound panel on right wall) but am thinking about building some for another room. _________________ Mike Paul

I found that I could buy ATX panels for about the same as, or even less than, I could build them myself. The main reason for that was, I would have to have bought more raw material (insulation, fabric, etc.) than I needed for the number and size of panels I wanted. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

I'm a big fan of the recycled denim insulation - but I'm not so sure about the black backing he's using. It looks like landscape fabric ... I'm not sure how well that would work. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

I bought an entire box of denim insulation to install in the window of my studio, because my air conditioning compressor and our neighbors compressor make enough noise to climb in through my microphone. However, an 80 foot tall spruce tree fell on our house and our neighbors house putting holes in the roof and making that window leak. Repairs are forthcoming sometime in the future,
because over 1000 homes in Portland were damaged in that January storm. I’m waiting because I wanna make sure that the roof is sealed and the window is safe before I install that lovely denim insulation.

...for those who's booth double as a grow room. It keeps the weeds out. Or in, depending. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.
