I've narrated (and produced, proofed, mastered) a few ACX titles.
I have someone asking me if I'd be interested in JUST editing, proofing, mastering for someone else's narration.
I can totally do this but don't know what to charge for this type of service?
Would it be my normal PFH rate? _________________ www.moosevoice.com |

Moose,
Yes! If that is what you are comfortable with then that is absolutely what you charge. If you pay yourself that much to do your own production then you should do the same for clients. Your finished hour rate is sooooo personal and important. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

Thanks Mandy. I posted this on the ACX/Narrators group on FB and, wow, not very kind.
I appreciate the input here. _________________ www.moosevoice.com |

Not familiar with that place but I'm more than happy to continue to avoid the people who think they know everything. At least here there is a pile of mutual respect for everyone's experiences. _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

My advice: look for yourself, or the self you want to be. I Googled Audiobook Mastering, Editing, Production and got dozens of purveyors of these services. Rates are all over the map. $150 PFH, $1,000 per book, $50 per MINUTE(!).
Try and find an average that suits you and run with it.

Moose,
I think the ACX Narrator's group has a file section where there's a spreadsheet with rates for prep, proof, edit, etc.
Most of the rates I saw a few years ago range from $50 - $100-ish PFH, charged to the narrator. I haven't checked it in a while, but that's what I remember that landscape looking like a couple-to-few years ago. _________________ Greg Littlefield
