Never fails that I get on a Source Connect session and the engineer asks me to turn down my level.
However, my DAW level looks good (master meter, btw).

Am i running levels too high?
I'm usually hovering around the -6dB area.
Is there a Source Connect thing where the level is increased a bit?

Each engineer's different but I've been good hovering -12 to -18db. Never had any complaints with those settings--usually, it's the case that their levels are too low and I can't hear them. (Often because they're using the talkback mic and are too far from it.)

As for SC, no, there's no adjusting levels in SC that I'm aware of; it just takes whatever you send to it from the selected input source.

Your levels can be set starting at your mic gain, then any other gains along the way through the sound chain... but again, always had good results from average levels between -12 to -18db.

btw, I hit up Source Elements and they said that there's no way to adjust the level IN Source Connect.

I had the exact opposite problem with a session today… my level was too low for the engineer on the other end. I tried raising it in my DAW to no avail. I ended up recording on my end and sent it to him as backup in case his wasn’t workable.
