There are/have been many voice actors who work well into their 80s. So if you’ve still got it you can still flaunt it! Leslie Phillips, whom we’ve all heard numerous times, worked until he was 88.

The Twitter video clip in this article is a delight for those who loved his work.

I intend to keep working my whole life. You know, for food and stuff.

My fondness for shelter and food remains undiminished.

Why do we keep referring to what we do as "working." It's been well documented that it's just talking. Rolls Eyes

Good point that; is voiceover really work? Here’s a point in favor of considering it to be work, I charge the same rate for a 30 second commercial as I do a 60 second commercial because it takes just as much work (craft shall we call it?) to make those 70 words sound as good as the 140 words in the 60 second spot.

And if you’ve been in a session across the glass from six writers, producers, and bank executives developing their new commercial “sound”, those 26 takes feel like work. Or acting out three main characters in a video game in front of half a dozen writers, death throes and all? Yeah, sweaty work.

Now, talking sweetly into a mic for two takes and getting paid national or regional commercial rate? Yeah, that’s playtime, not work. Wish it happened every day, but no.

Buttie = north of England slang for sandwich and Turkey refers to the contents thereof. Soooo it's a Turkey sandwich but unlike the US equivalent NOT the size of the Jersey Turnpike with a defibrillator on the side.
