This video was never meant to "go public" I was simply testing something, but I love it! Sorry.

It hasn't happened for a while (because I've been interred in my basement for a couple of years)... but I used to travel into Manhattan studios with some regularity. There were two things that always gave me a reality check... the first was the horror of the rush-hour commute. These people had to do this every day to survive... mostly dead behind the eyes, they had nothing to look forward to but two more hours of the same later that day... and the same thing repeated day, after day, after day... (this, of course, is a very personal perspective). The second thing was travelling through the railroad marshalling yards outside Manhattan. Rain or shine, snow or sleet... workers out there in orange safety tabards and hard-hats, doing whatever they needed to do to keep the railroad running. However stressed I was about the upcoming studio session, I only had to think of that to put it all in perspective.

I find myself in rush hour traffic 2 or 3 times a month, which in Portland can start as early as 2 p.m., and praise whomever that I have only a 10 foot commute to work every day. I'm also incredibly grateful for the obscene hourly rate I earn some days for just 30 minutes of work, which gets me through those days when it's abysmally quiet in the studio.

Yep, I'll take this over 9 to 5 indoors or outdoors anywhere.

Yes, and be prepared to be quick on your feet because your chances to learn new ways to apply your talents, your challenges, and your opportunities, will keep moving your goal posts. An investment in some good running shoes sounds worthwhile.
