I'm a proponent of simple, straight to the point website design and after much dinking in the world of WordPress I've come up with such a concept. Your thoughts and suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Bruce, I agree on simplicity, and this framework is clear.
Personally, the colors don't jive with me too well on this monitor. The blue borders and in the player feel harsh to my eyes, and along with the white background makes me think of post-frames-Angelfire sites-- old design. Perhaps try just going a nuance warmer, and adding a very simple, easy-on-the-goggles color for the background?
It also feels like there's no natural center in my browser, like everything is skewed just a wee bit too much left or right.
Hope this sparks some ideas.
PS: Bit funny that your voice is very versatile, but the website's design is minimalist Deliberate? |

Hey Bruce,
I have good monitors and everything looks fine. You're right, it is simple and it gets the job done.
I don't use my website to get me work via search engines. I use mine as a business card. If someone wants to find out more about me after an audition or such, it's there with more of my work. That's how yours strikes me.
Nothing in your layout is offset on my desktop. Colors are good and your work is there. I see no problems. _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

i like it - simple - to the point. i DO think the red on blue combo in the player might be a bit hard on some people's eyes --- but it wouldn't stop me from clicking a link. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

I have darkened the blue and red bits in response to comments here and elsewhere. Thank you!

I think that's a direct quote from Betsy Ross. _________________ Never do anything you wouldn't want to explain to the Paramedics

"Click a media below"?
There's gotta be a grammatically correcter/better way to say that.
– Click a demo below
– Make a selection below
– Hear the versatility for yourself:

That's a VoiceZam player and last I checked those phrases aren't changeable. I've been tempted to put the briefest of explanations nearby.

Seriously? "...click a media..."? Ew. I can't think of a way to justify that as correct. _________________ Doug Turkel (tur-KELL)

I wrote to Mr. Zam himself last night and he is just about to announce a change to the logical.....
...a button we can program to say something like "Click here for another Demo" and more universal looking download buttons for each clip and each complete demo.
Progress. The a is quite slick for the most part so it's nice that it will get a bit closer to perfect soon.

Just seeing this now Bruce.
The one idea I would offer would be to organize the videos by category if only simple headlines like "Commercial", "Narration", "Promo" etc. Not super critical as all your work is great but might help media producers in directing them specifically to the work they would want to sample.
Hope that helps. _________________ - Peter

First thing that popped into my my head is the expanse of white openness between "Audio Demos" and "Videos".
