I've waited all my life to be here (54, Nov 9th). I'm at 85-90% of my physical abilities at age 25, but a lot smarter than 25...'have the confidence of years, and the experience to see through the crap to the heart of the matter in most situations. I'm content. Success in the past, and still a long life ahead.

What's not to like about 50+ ?

The weired thing is the AARP mailers you get when you turn 50. I finally gave up, sent them the $12.50 for a membership, and happily found that they offer some pretty decent discounts.

Most of us 'boomers are in denial anyway...so why fight it?

Oh, and about the demo (back to original post)...I quit listening after the 3rd spot. There was a sameness to each approach that didn't keep my attention. Good timbre in the voice, but pacing at times seemed plodding when a change-up would've been more appropriate, I think. My 2-cents.

I wonder what people hear when they listen to other voice demo's before they produce their own. Every voice needs to be aware of the market and to a degree with whom they will be going head to head.

There is nothing wrong with this demo, as such, nor is there anything wrong with the voice. The problem arises when one drops it into context and then it simply doesn't cut it.

Listen to about 50 demo's, make sure they are demo's by top pro's. When you know each demo, backwards, forwards, word for word then go and produce your demo which must sound as good as if not better than the voices your admire.

Does that sound like a lot of effort? Impossible to achieve? So is climbing Mount Everest, but people do it every day and the view from the top is worth it.
