Hi Bruce,
When I auditioned, I tried to "underplay" my descriptions. - The idea being that I wouldn't take away or "comment" on the action in the film. That's what I had done on previous AD work I had done on some independent films, and everyone seemed satisfied.
When they brought me in to record my first project for Disney (John Carter, but we don't want to talk about that one.) They told me that "someone" at Disney really liked what I did in the audition, but "That's not what we want." -The wanted me to match the tone of each scene.
After many years in this business and thousands of auditions, I still don't have any idea how this casting process works. _________________ Travis
