I just heard an advertisment on WRKR out of Kalamazoo that Guitar Center is selling Behringer Mixers for $39!!!! So, tomorrow, when I get that loverly little bi-weekly piece of paper with all the little numbers on it, I'm going to take Jen out to a nice dinner at Brann's Steak House, and then we're hitting Guitar Center!
Hopefully, by the end of the weekend, I should be working with better equipment. _________________ Christopher G. French

Sounds like it could be either the UB802... UB1002... or the UB502. _________________ "Bailey"

Well, I went to Guitar Center in Kalamazoo tonight and picked up a Behringer UB802 Mixer board for 39 bucks. They had some decent condenser mics on sale too, I can't remember the brand name. They were on sale, buy one at 99 bucks and get one free! I sooooooooooooooooooooooo wanted to do it, but I didn't have the cash to spare and the plastic's a little beat up at the moment. DAMN, I hate being poor!

That's a great deal on mics at Guitar Center. A great way to expand your "choices". You can get a nice sounding mic for $99. That's two for $49.50! <g> |

I'll bet those were Octava mic's! I worked with an engineer a few months ago who told me about a great deal on those babies. He said you could pick up a pair for about $100 at a Guitar Center. He also said, get 'em if you can.
I read the reviews on the model and most were very positive; however, a pop filter was required for vo as they were so sensitive.
I think the Octava MK-219 has been discontinued. But, for the buck, you can't find a better deal. The engineer said to his ears, the Octava MK-219 was incredible. The mic's sound as good as a Sennheizer 421.
Ebay has a pair: Octava I also found a single mic that's has an opening bid of $9.99.
There's no way you could go wrong with a pair of those. There must be something around your crib you can sell. How about your cat or dog or something? _________________ Charlie |
