I'm running Adobe Audtion 2.0 quite successfully on my Windows XP machine.
Now I'm shopping for a new laptop and my question is this, will 2.0 function properly with Vista and 4 gigs of ram?
Thanks
JJ

I'm not sure about 2.0 but AA3 works fine under Vista.

So JimRon, are you saying you get the error message that it's switching to basic mode, but it never switches?

Or, does it switch, but there are no issues with basic mode?

I've never seen basic mode in AA 1.5, so I'm clueless...sorry.

Thanks,

Craig

(Who may have many other reasons for being clueless, but let's deal with one at a time.)

The message I get is "The Color Scheme has been changed to Windows Vista Basic. A running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of Windows."

Vista and AA1.5 both seem to run fine. Not sure what "visual elements" aren't compatible, but it doesn't seem to affect operation or program performance.

So VoiceJones, in answer to your original question, I'd say you shouldn't have a problem. But who knows. There might be some program you have that doesn't like AA2.0. Something that's part of Vista. Do you know which version of Vista?

Thanks for the clarification. Now I get it. I know I'll eventually have to deal with this issue and I'm trying to stay up on it. (Don't really want to upgrade from 1.5 if I don't have to.

I'm also running 1.5 on my vista laptop and I have never seen that error message. I haven't had any issues with it at all and just had to knock wood after typing that. The only things I've discovered is that the audio output of my laptop is pure crud.

Oh, kidding, of course. It's home premium, service pack 1, 32 bit OS.

You may not have Aero turned on...if not, you wouldn't see that message. Possibly something in AA 1.5 is making a call to a library that's not supported with Aero on (I'm guessing here)

JJ---

Did you purchase that new computer yet? I'm in the same boat, shopping a new desktop and am concerned about AA 2.0 and Vista.
