Hey gang.

I've got a phone system I'm recording and they what it in the following format.
WAV - Mono at 128 KBPS and 6 Thousand KHZ

I use Sony Sound Fordge 7 and I do not see those settings. Any thoughts? I've got to recored this tonight and send them the files tommarrow.

In the window where you select the rate is it possible to type in 6000 as opposed to use one of the options. I just tried it and it worked.

Wow looks like it took. I see if the customer cna use that. Or the best I can to is 8k.

The general rule of thumb (or ear) is to sample double the frequency you want. Since the telephone's frequency reange is about 200 -to- 4000Hz the max you would need is 8000 for a sample rate. Of course fewer samples mean smaller files.
