I've been a fan and occasional practicer of the arts for several years.
This is one of my friends in Chicago that is a dark magic master and taught me some neat stuff.

In the 80's while working for movie distribs and studios I would travel to NYC and while there seek out the tucked away secret magic shops of yesteryear and the at-that-time present. NYC is so cool for having these shops in buildings that were like mazes with all kinds of businesses and finding your way around the building to find a nondescript elevator that would take you to a floor with only a few nondescript doors that may only have a number or even a symbol to identify that you had found the right place was a magical trip of it's own. Eugene (magicbeard) gave me a lot of info on these stores and also got me into the Magic Castle in LA.
