VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Tomorrow morning I leave on my next business trip. I'll be in Charleston, South Carolina through this weekend. I have one friend (not a member of this board, yet) that I'm going to see while I'm there ... but with all the new members I thought I'd throw it open for anyone else who might be interesting in doing some kind of VO get-together.

By the way, there's another leg of my tour, this time north of Charlotte, coming up next month. More about that in a few days.

Well what a wonderful suprise awaited me here in Charleston, South Carolina. I got a phone call Friday evening from our friend Roger Tremaine. Yes, he of the falling off the horse, horse falling on him, miraculous recovery in Kentucky fame. As it turns out, Roger's daughter and her husband have recently moved to Charleston and Roger's here to visit them and the grandchildren.

So, as long as we were in the same town at the same time, naturally, we found a way to spend some time together.

Roger and I had such a nice visit together and I have to tell you for a man who suffered the terrible accident he did just 6 months ago, he looks and moves amazingly well. And he was the smart one today, remembering to bring his camera with him.

Then a couple of hours later, another VO friend of mine, who lives here in Charleston, Carl Hedgepeth (I can't remember if Carl ever joined the VO-B cool

, had a really nice visit together as well.

All I had with me on this trip was my phone camera because this trip took me away from home while my middle son, David was testing for his red belt in karate. I left my good camera at home so I could see some photos of that event. Thus the less than idea photo of Carl and me, taken as well as possible by a nice lady who just happened to be walking through the lobby of the hotel when we were trying to get a shot of ourselves.

I was especially pleased that I was able to offer Carl a suggestion about a specific niche of voiceover work for which some of his previous professional experience uniquely qualifies him, something about which he hadn't given a second thought. I hope it will prove a rich gold mine of opportunity for him as he pursues this idea further.

It was a great, fun day of seeing friends again and for the first time.
