Ok guys, Christmas is just around the corner. If you could ask Santa to bring you studio goodies for Christmas, what would you ask for?

I want my own little home studio with a really good soundproof room (lots of street noise here.)

Well... had Santa been asking a couple of months ago, my list would have been much larger, but I just completely re-rigged my studio (pics and gear listing here... www.brianforrester.com/delivery.html#studio), so there's not all that much that I'd really ask for.

I'd like get the super cool APT Woldnet Tokyo ISDN codec, but I don't really need it yet, and that might be a bit greedy!

I guess the one piece of gear that I'd really like is a tricked out computer... big cpu, 3 hard drives, a tonne of ram, super fast bus speeds, dual monitor setup... you know, all the fun stuff that we can't really afford and even if we could we don't really need! But, since Santa's asking I'm more than willing to write my list for him to check twice!

Having just written that, I kinda feel selfish... with all the bad stuff going in the world today, material things like I just listed don't seem all that important... I guess I'm getting sentimental as I get older and my priorities in life begin to change. My goodness, what am I going to be like when I'm like, ah, really old, like 30!

Regardless, being the gear junkie that I have become, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's lists!

I hope all of you in the land of the Red, White and Blue have had an enjoyable day, filled with family, food and love!

Cheers,

Well....since you asked...here goes:

A Presonus Eureka, a Neuman mic and a WhisperRoom.

That'll do for now. I'm trying not to be toooo greedy

Well my requests from Santa are fairly simple

1) Rode Nt1A

2) MBox

3) Spare room for setup

4) Knowledge of how to use the above

AND

5) A Pittsburg Steelers Jacket for cold days in the studio

Boy Howdy, that WorldNet Tokyo codec really is a gem, isn't it?

Not necessary yet, but Booyah, anyway.

I'd like to get another mic stand/arm for the Røde NTK I have now.
That, and some drapes to put up around the recording area. That mic is so sensitive, you can hear dust fall.

Yup, going from a dynamic like that RE 20 of yours to a condenser sure do cause concern for room dynamics. Became quite an acoustics, curtin' hangin' devil myself when I went from my dynamic Sennheiser to a condenser. I swear they pick up flea farts.

Dear Santa,

I can get by with a tin can... dental floss... and a cardboard box. What I'd really like for Christmas is a years supply of steady clients. Smile

Hmmm....anyone wanna lay odds Anthony reads the Sharper Image catalogue cover-to-cover? Laugh

I'd like a blazin-fast puter, with top o' line audio and video editing ware. And some special effects software. And a Get Out of Poverty Free card. Actually, just get me that last one and I'll take care of the other stuff myself.

Oh yeah, and world peace and stuff. If there's anything left over after the above.

A window. I would like a 4' x 4' opening window in my studio for Christmas. Got everything else I could need or want. Well, okay, maybe wall to wall bookcase/cabinets for the wall on the far end. But that's it. Really.

Okay, all truth told, I'm a Baha'i and don't celebrate Christmas, although we recognize it. IF I was celebrating this holiday, I would have my eyes (and wallet) all over a BMW KT1200RT. It'll have to wait until next year

I would like a narration demo, and a better understanding of how to make the Symetrix 528e work for me. I think I will be getting both next week. Smile

Honestly, I haven't been that good this year so all I'm expecting is a new $2 (USD) foam wind screen. Now here's the part where I haven't been good comes in. It's not a wind screen for a microphone. (jingle...record)
