Hey Deebs- I was JUST about to post a thread asking if you've been transported to Oz yet. Watching the NH news now....lots of reports of "funnel activity" this side of the border too. No one wants to use the "t" word yet. The rain was unreal - a couple of inches already and more on the way tonight.
My daughter's at camp this week in Durham - she's been calling with updates throughout the day- they have the kids huddled in the dinning hall until further notice. Yikes. _________________ Moe Egan

Oh, they're saying "Tornado" round here plenty.
Warnings and watches and all that happy crap.
It's just freakin weird with the storms progressing STRAIGHT NORTH. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

We had a storm last night that was moving straight South. Very strange, no question. I sure hope you folks stay OK. _________________ Be well,

Seems to me I saw on a game show (no comments about my viewing habits, please) that all 50 states have had tornadoes, and in fact, the United States leads the world in having the most tornadoes.
Y'all need to visit us here in North Carolina. Tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, plagues of ladybugs, dogfights, we have it all! |

It's been raining an awful lot up here today and most of Bangor Hydro's customers lost their power this morning for a couple hours (120,00 peeps). Nothing like sitting in the dark for that long not being able to do tech support work. I think CMP lost power, too. At least whatever grid our house is on did. Lots of surfing on the phone this morning.
Haven't heard of tornadoes up this way, though. I thought I left those behind in Texas (along with the earthquakes I thought I left in SoCal, but they have those along the coast every once in a while, too...).
Can't wait to see what Jim Kosek has to say about it all tonight... _________________ Greg Littlefield

The incident in Epsom, NH today was definitely a tornado. It sheered the top half of large trees right off leaving them like huge spikes. It didn't knock the trees over. That's exactly what happened in a confirmed tornado that hit Woodstock, GA recently.
Hope y'all are well up there. _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Just remember, the safest place in a tornado is in a basement. (No one has 'em in my neck o' the woods.) Next best is an interior room, hallway, or closet. Like Todd said, if it sounds like a train, GET AWAY FROM THE WINDOWS! More than one person has been spared by lying down in their empty bathtub & pulling a mattress over their head. You don't want to 1) Get sucked out a window, or 2) Be hit by flying glass or debris.
Y'all stay safe, ok? _________________ Mary |

The twisters missed us (about a half hour to our east) but we did get the flooding. Yup. basement (in which my studio sits) got a little damp....thank goodness for strong boy children who (when ordered) help mop up the place.

NH's bad wx hit about 50 miles from me here in the puckerbrush.. sadly, one man lost his life, and many have had to seek shelter.. we got lots of rain here, tho ... very nasty downpours, and scary wind gusts... _________________ "the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best" |
