Have you ever felt like it doesn't matter what you do, your mouth is dry and noisy?

Drink lots of water all day.
Stayed away from caffeine from 11:00 AM on.
Green apple.
Entertainer's Secret
etc...

Yet while recording late yesterday afternoon, my mouth was dry and noisy after every other sentence. It's been dry here the last couple of days, but I would have thought all my preperation would have compensated for that.

I can thank Ben Wilson for this tip. I have horrible mouth noise.... Ben suggested apple cider, and apparently, it does the trick. You can sip it while recording, so it's handy.

Also, do the pencil trick: the thing where you put a pencil in your mouth sideways —behind your eye teeth— like a horse's bit and read.
I know this isn't a spit-buster specifically, but it re-invigorates tired tongue muscles or something.

I got this from the Estelle Harman Actors'Studio in Hollywood in the '80's.
