But should you upgrade yet?
I did an extensive test with Rebekah at Source Elements with SC3 and it seems to work as advertised. However, you need to check with whatever studio or bridging company you use to see if they have made the update. SC3, for various reasons, is NOT backward compatible with the previous version, 2.5. If you upgrade, but none of your clients have, you'll need to revert back to 2.5. At outofhear we have not made the upgrade and encouraged our clients to stick with 2.5 for the time being.
If you use it strictly as a bridge to ISDN, the new features will not benefit you in any way. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Then again, if you encourage EVERYbody to upgrade, then they'll all play nice together!

Yes, in a perfect world that would seem to be true. However, I have many clients for whom such a simple sounding process just isn't within their grasp. Maybe it is my fault for too much hand holding, but some will have no idea how to upgrade the license on their iLoks and will require my guidance. Maybe a massive conference call is in order? _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

I think, too, a lot of people are "afraid" of their computers, especially if they have to use them but aren't "techy" per se. I can't say I blame anybody who falls into this category, with all the bad press and misinformation that's constantly circulating about all things computer.
But one of the side effects of this is that people don't want to touch anything for fear it'll break. _________________ Lou Zucaro

soundgun, a conference call is probably the best way to make sure that 80% of the folks will be able to do the upgrade without difficulty.
You'll still need to deal with the idiot factor... those 20% who for some reason, either by their own hand or otherwise, need a little extra help.
Lou... seriously? Afraid of their computers? I simply can't believe it, I mean it's not like a simple thing like this could cause your computer to br---

I know what you mean, and I think it's actually 80%, but I try not to use terminology like that. It makes my parents upset, as they're CONVINCED that I made up that term myself to describe them in particular _________________ Lou Zucaro
