AKG has released a new cardioid-only microphone that has the same capsule as the multi-pattern C-414s. So far one on-line retailer is selling it for $650.

Lance, who has it? I can only find it in Europe. Is it on the AKG site yet? Should be a hit with VO. (But still cost too much.)

I saw this.
I thought it odd they would keep the *14 numbering. I thought that back in the day the 414 was named such for it's 4 polar patterns (though it would technically mean that today they make a 415...).

Price is a little high, but I want to try and get my hands on one.
