Does anyone here use the Marantz PMD670 or something similar rather than recording directly to your harddrive? Just curious.

I don't use that unit, the signal is split so it goes to both the ADAT and the computer. Don't know if that answers your question ....

Well, I'm just curious about something like the PMD670 as an alternative to recording directly to one's harddrive. I just wondered if there were many folks that did something like that--record to a dedicated recorder and then transfer the file(s) over to the computer for any editing or conversion that may need to be done.
