Our new cleaner, Ellie was discussing with Anne food likes and dislikes. Anne mentioned being allergic to eggs. On her next visit Ellie arrived with a delicious looking chocolate cake - An eggless cake.

"Well I tried with this one but it's really rank!"

That's your word people "rank" = Utterly disgusting, revolting, yeuk.

It wasn't by the way, it was superb.

Actually we use that word here, too, in the same way Smile

(which is why at the film library I used to work at, we thought it was funny that there was a company that makes film/video equipment called Rank-Cintel...we'd say "Put this on the rank 'n' smell and take a look")
