Our new cleaner, Ellie was discussing with Anne food likes and dislikes. Anne mentioned being allergic to eggs. On her next visit Ellie arrived with a delicious looking chocolate cake - An eggless cake.
"Well I tried with this one but it's really rank!"
That's your word people "rank" = Utterly disgusting, revolting, yeuk.
It wasn't by the way, it was superb. |

Actually we use that word here, too, in the same way
(which is why at the film library I used to work at, we thought it was funny that there was a company that makes film/video equipment called Rank-Cintel...we'd say "Put this on the rank 'n' smell and take a look") _________________ Lou Zucaro
