VO-BB - 20 YEARS OLD!

Hi!

Can someone with experience in phone system recordings let me know if I’m on the right track? I need to send a recording to a client in ccit ulaw format. I have been searching thru the archives and google to come up with this plan. Please let me know if it will work.

Here it is: Use adobe audition to capture in 44.1-16 Bit, Then downsample to 8K-16 Bit ACM wav . Then I have a Smart Audio Converter Pro that I can use to convert to the ccit ulaw format. I think Audition can’t do that conversion and I cannot hear this final format in Audition.

This is for a client through voices.com using Surepay so I am going to upload the files to their site and hope it works. Will it?

Is there a better way to do this?

ccitt ulaw it a .wav format.
It's 8bit
I'm not sure about Adobe, but SoundForge can convert to it....however, if your converter can convert to it, it should work fine, even if you can't hear it in Audition.

The only way to be sure is to send it to your client & see if it works in their system...or if you want email me one of your converted files & I should be able to tell you if it's the right format.
