"At Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park in Key Biscayne, iguanas fell out of trees Thursday. The cold-blooded reptiles go into a sort of hibernation when temperatures get too low, even if they are perched in branches. Most woke up when the weather warmed later in the day."

Yeah, that was me too... I was definitely in a state of hibernation on Thursday and yesterday too. I can't handle the cold weather either.

Poor lizards.

Yes, it's a special time of year in Key Biscayne when the iguanas fall from the trees.

Doesn't have quite the same cache as the swallows returning to San Juan Capistrano, or the turkey buzzards returning to Hinkley, Ohio, does it?

Swallow Spoiler alert: I talked to one of the rangers at Capistrano and asked him about the accuracy of the swallows always returning on March 19th and he said they do...and on the 14th, and the 17th....they always come around the middle of March and are almost certain to be coming back in flocks by the 19th so it was a safe date...and it happens to coincide with a saint's birthday, so it was convenient, too.

I lived just down the road from Hinkley for years... turkey buzzards are hardly something to look forward to. Rolls Eyes Laugh
