Recently, my friend and many of yours, Bob Souer was interviewed by voices.com about a rather large project he is currently working on...reading the entire bible.

You can read the article here.

Nice job, Bob. Smile

Wow! That is so awesome! I had seen a job floating around for reading the bible, and Bob Souer is the first voice that came to mind. Congratulations Bob.
774,000 words. You'll probably have to break that up into two files.

New_Testament.mp3

Dan,

Thank you for the very nice post. I knew I would enjoy this job, but while it is a lot (LOT!!!) of work, it's been great fun, too.

I'm keeping myself well hydrated both before and during the sessions. I have my handy dandy Pat Fraley water mist sprayer with me and use it often.

Thanks for the great laugh, Bob. Actually, Northstar Studios in Nashville is taking care of all the recording, editing and mixing. I think it's a few more than 2 files. Wink

Other than Charleton Heston...there's NO other choice for this job! Rolls Eyes Congrats on such an amazing gig (on so many levels).

Question: How long are you allotting for this job? Are you doing it in "chunks" over a longer period of time? (okay, that's two questions). When you get to Phillipians 1:3 Just pretend it's all of us here talking to you. Smile

(That verse is: I thank my God upon every remembrance of you)

Moe,

We're recording about 4 hours each day, Monday through Friday and several hours most Saturdays as well. This combined with my full time job with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association makes me a very busy boy these days.

We did take a month break for most of November. That's because we were 400 chapters ahead of approvals from the publisher. The Exec. Producer thought it best not to get too far ahead just in case the publisher wanted to change something about the way we were recording.

Thankfully, they didn't. So a few weeks ago, we started up the sessions again. If things continue on their current pace, I'll be finished with everything by sometime in late February or early March. Maybe sooner, but I'm not counting on it.

And I do indeed thank God in all my remembrance of each of you, every day. As I said in another thread, this board (and more importantly each of you as members here) has/have been such an amazing blessing in my life. One of the most important things that's happened to me in the last 2 years.

So 774,000 words X a normal rate of $.25 per word = $193500

We won't be seeing Bob in these parts anymore. He just retired to some Carribean island.
