Oh.... my.... goodness!!! :P That's probably one of the most intricate computer setups that I've ever seen!

Great idea, but wow!!! Very time consuming.

My only concern about the rig is that there are still fans sticking out of the back of the drawer, which I can only imagine would still produce a significant amount of noise.

I don't think that there's a huge market for something like this commercially, but none the less a very intelligent and well thought out setup.

Nice install. My question is, just how quiet is the rig? -75 db? And, I'm always concerned about low frequency vibes. I think I'll go for the Mac Mini and call it done.

Now he's distributed the noise to all corners of the room. Brilliant.

Coffin: the "ultimate isolation box."

Ya gotta remember this was built by an architecture masters candidate who was looking for a solution to get the PC off the desk, not a VO guy looking for quiet solution.

I thought it interesting as I had just read on an audio forum about using MDF to build a quiet case (as opposed to an isolation box) instead of the flimsy, amplifing sheet metal usually used. Add some quiet components, silent fans and rubber insulation from the floor and as long as you don't put the mic on the desk it would probably be pretty quiet, but definitely overkill as far as a case goes

I just appreciated the ingenuity.
