For those that travel/crawl the web this is posted elsewhere. But I figure this forum has many members that won’t see it. I could use the help. Thanks Ed
I have a meeting with a Boutique Book Publisher comming up soon. My Boutique Production Company (BPC) may enter into an agreement for my BPC to produce Audio Book content for his company to market.
Has any one got real experience in this market? Are there any typical stats on Audio Book sales per title in this market? Remember I’m not talking about a main-line publisher.
Instead of producing the content as a work for hire, I am thinking of a revenue split situation where my BPC will retain audio rights. I believe that print rights and audio rights are often times kept separate in this kind of market.
Does any one have actual experience that would help me to better understand this business? If so they would be appreciated. _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"

Seek out Pat Fraley. He's taught classes on exactly this topic and I believe is an audio book producer himself.

Thanks Bruce
The Producer part is the most vital issue.
