It is said, that when God put the schism between man and animals, dog jumped it to be closer to man. Skidboot surely was leading the pack. Thanks Joe. _________________ Esse quam videri "To be rather than to seem"

No question... Skidboot was a remarkable animal! However, I can't help but be impressed even more by David Hartwig. It is said that a dog is a mans best friend but surely David Hartwig returned the favor. _________________ . If at first you don't succeed, then bomb disposal probably isn't for you. |

Great story.
Dog spelled backwards, is still man's best friend. _________________ "Bailey"

My dog is sitting here at my feet, probably wondering why I'm petting her even more than usual with the hand that's not wiping a tear away from my eyes.
Thanks. |

Wow. I remember Skidboot from when he won Pet Star one year. Just last week, we were searching for a video of him performing so that my sister could see how he would walk backwards. My dog is part red heeler, & she throws it in reverse all the time. We ran across the story Joe posted, and knew he was getting old, but didn't realize he had since died. :-( What an amazing bond between man & beast.
Here is the Pet Star clip.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYczb_I7QKk _________________ Mary
