|
|
Hello VO-BBers -
I would like to edit some old radio demos but Audacity doesn't recognize files recorded outside the program. Has anyone found a program online - preferably free - that allows you to make such edits?
Thanks in advance.
My computer is acting wacky; apologies if this message posts twice. |

Stephanie -- I've been able to import all kinds of other audio format files into Audacity without issue. Have you tried Project -> Audio Import from the menu options?
Another option would be to save the file to something like a .wav from the original audio program and then import the .wav file into Audacity.

Thanks, all.
They're MPEG 4 files. I will try to convert the demos through itunes tonight and if that doesn't work I'll give that converter a go! |

I just discovered the latest Audacity (1.3.3) does import .m4a (MPEG 4 Audio) files. However if they come to you as .m4b or .mp4 tags… you may simply rename the “audio only” file as .m4a and Audacity will see the file.
Quote: | Quote from the Audacity website;
Import:
* Import of audio from QuickTime (mov, aac, m4a) files now supported on OSX.
* Broadcast Wave Format (BWF) wave files can now be imported.
Export:
* Additional export options added to MP3 and FLAC (a FREE BSD .mp4 codec) file formats. |
Toodles

It was as easy as renaming the tags! Thanks, everyone! |
